Already, the sports venue is in the history books for breaking attendance records when it hosted Super Bowl XXXIX.

EverBank Field is located in downtown Jacksonville next to the St. Johns River and is the home of the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars.

In 2005, the stadium hosted Super Bowl XXXIX with more than 78,000 people in the crowd, it was the biggest audience since 1994. The stadium received a $47 million face lift prior to hosting this game. Renovations include a sports bar called the "Bud Zone," a bigger scoreboard, escalators and a suite above the "Bud Zone."

Formerly known as the Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, the venue also hosts events like the NCAA University of Florida vs. University of Georgia and Gator Bowl football games, monster truck shows and concerts.

You've got to catch a game with the minor-league Jacksonville Suns. The Suns are major players with a long and successful history. The sports team won the International League title in 1968 and the Southern League championship in 1996, 2001, 2005, 2009 and 2010.

Baseball, basketball and football rule at Jacksonville University, where the Dolphins compete in NCAA Division I athletics. Overall, JU has participated in five NCAA Division I basketball tournaments, 13 NCAA Division I baseball tournaments, and have won a Pioneer Football League title in 2008.

The Jacksonville University Dolphins compete in NCAA Division I athletics and are members of the Atlantic Sun Conference, National Lacrosse Conference and the Pioneer Football League. Jacksonville University has approximately 400 students competing in an intercollegiate varsity sport.

Baseball and football are, of course, men's teams. Women's teams include rowing, softball, indoor/outdoor track and volleyball.

Basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer and tennis are available for both male and female athletes.

JU has participated in five NCAA Division I basketball tournaments and 13 NCAA Division I baseball tournaments. They also won a Pioneer Football League title in 2008.
